When & how much methelyne blue do I add to 20 gal. tank for angelfish babies?

Do I add methelyne blue with adult angels, or add it after they spawn when I remove them? The bottle said add 2 tsp. It is dark. I also need to know what kind of water treatment to add to the tap water with the methelyne blue. I heard not to use amquel with it. This is a 20 gal. tank. Please help! Thanks!

Methelyne blue is technically not needed, but it does help control fungus on unfertilized eggs that can spread to good eggs. Add it after they spawn and after you remove the parents. Use the full dose even if it does look really dark, it takes that mush to be effective. Any water conditioner should be just fine to usse with the methelyne blue, I have used it with Amquel before and saw no problems. Personally I usually use a very basic dechlorinator though, rather than the stuff with all the other additives in it, like Amquel. Just personal preference.
