Parents should be attentive to their children. Talk to them about what they like, watch what they do (although not to the extreme), and this is how a parent gets to know their kid and what they like. That way a parent can say: "Hey Jimmy, I know you like soccer, there is a team starting up at the school, do you want to join?" And if little Jimmy says no, that should be just fine with a parent. When Jimmy does find something he likes to do, then a parent can be there all the way for him.

Certainly! It is the responsibility of a parent to shape a child in the way they should go. This means teaching them right from wrong as well as exposing them to diverse activities. When the child shows an interest in something, parents should take note and help the child explore the activity in more detail. If the interest grows, allow the child to go further unless it is something harmful or illegal. (trying all kinds of drugs, smoking, alcohol etc.) The parents should always praise a child when they do someting well for their age and not criticize their attempts. Of course, you have to also use common sense. If your daughter is 5' 2" tall and wants to be a model, the chances of that happening is really slim. In other words, don't encourage a child to set a goal that is unattainable. Instead encourage them in an area where they can excel.

I think parents should encourage a child at something there good at ,because the child will improve and it will helps builds the child's confidence. If the child know what there strenths are, then they will have a better idea of what they want to do in the future. As long as it is gentle encouragment and the child wants to do it/enjoy it.

Absolutely. Parents should raise their children to be productive citizens of society and better the world. If they find something they excel at they can use it to better themselves finanically & psychologically and they can better the world if their parents teach them correctly.
