an acquaintance of mine was recently arrested by police on behalf of the FBI for the charge of conspiracy... I'm not very familiar with the law and law enforcement, but my question is two part. do police normally arrest people on behalf of the FBI? and also what does the Federal charge of conspiracy entail? and for all the comedians, it has nothing to do with 9/11...

Conspiracy entails an agreement among at least two individuals to commit an illegal act, with at least one overt act in furtherance of the scheme.

Most often the charge is conspiracy to do something specific, such as mail fraud or wire fraud...

Well, all my life I've heard that, THERE ARE NO CONSPIRACIES.

Just reiterate that point in court, when the chance arises.
