Just curious to know, how have people influenced someones decisions or persuaded them to do something that they were initially against in the past. Keep it clean!!

I thought this would be easy but it's not. Now that I think about it you can't really persuade anyone very easily or for very long. I guess I influenced my husband and a friend to vote for Ross Perot for president and have felt the fool for doing so ever since. They won't let that happen again!! Ha!! @8-)

As a public school teacher, I've done my share of "persuasion" throughout my career (20+ yrs.).

*When the students are ready to succeed, they will.

**You just have to be there to support them (i.e., time, effort, a motivational "kick in the pants", etc.).

*If the students are not ready to succeed, I always let them know that I'll still be around to help them to go in the right direction, should they choose to do so.

**They know where I work, and they're always welcome.

*Many students have returned for direction, to give thanks, or just to see how I'm doing, and to share their lives with me.

Ha, just make it seem like it's their decision to make, by asking them stuff like "what do you want to do?" followed by "what do you think of going clothes shopping? It'll give us something to do" and so forth, it makes it seem like their decision when it's not.
