I have a friend who is very metrosexual, yet always trys to do alot of guy stuff, like drinking, parting, hugging guys and grabing their bums and just recently started grabing their balls. I feel he is gay and hiding it.

I also fear he is depressed because he smokes weed alot, gets drunk and just flunked out of school in his last yr. I am worried about hurting his feelings by asking becos he is homophobic.

I think the bigger issue here is his internal struggle. While I'm no expert, I think he is fighting internally over some feelings that he doesn't know how to express or is afraid to express.
If he can do the alpha male bonding ritual, then he can explore his sexuality without admitting or being thought of as gay.
What concerns me though is the drinking and drug use. Often times people will turn to substance abuse to avoid the real issues... maybe you should speak with and address your concerns with him.
He may not appreciate it at first, but I believe you should set down and have a candid conversation with him. Believe me, later on, he will appreciate your help and concern.

Why not just ask him?
Come on....get over yourself and stop worrying about other people's sexuality. If he's not hitting on you...than forget about it.
Guys do weird things. My ex-husband used to actually lick eyeballs! He'd be horsing around and to through his buddies off guard he'd put them in a headlock and lick their eyeballs.
So go figure.
My son, who's DEFINITELY Straight, wears pink checked sunglasses and pink flip-flops...because he can get away with it! No one EVER calls him gay! He's just a performer, a clown, a fun loving person with a great sense of humor...as long as it's not hurting anyone else's feelings.

Why dont you just ask him? If he is gay, thats not the way to go about it, its a little strong.
And if hes not gay and he just has a really twisted sense of humour... do you really want a guy grabbing your balls?

Doesn't sound like he is hiding it to me, however, those of your friends who don't care for the hugging, ball grabbing and bum groping I would let him know they are taken!
