of planning a great birthday party for your child, and make up invitations, do you find it extremely rude of parents not to call and say their child is coming? When my child is invited to a party, I call the parents and let them know one way or another.

Its extremely rude.... but would they respond to an RSVP?? I remember taking my son to another little boys birthday party and he was the only child to show up..... nobody else even responded to the rsvp..... imagine how devastating that was for the child, and how his mother felt.

No, I feel if they come they come and if they don't they don't. I don't usually invite too many people that way I know I won't run out of anything. It sounds like you really put at lot of thought into this party. Maybe next time don't invite so many kids that way you will be sure to have plenty for everyone and have it at a place where it will still be comfortable if 5 or 25 kids show up.

*Make a special note by the RSVP that this is important*

yes. And I find it very rude to invite 20 kids, and not one single one of them show up. Their mothers or someone drive by the house every day and don't have the curtisy to stop by and tell me they wont be coming or even call. And I always tell them on the invitations NO PRESENTS NECCESARY. Maybe I should straighten that out a bit. These idiots think their PRESENCE is not neccesary.

It would be annoying as heck! I always call either way just so they know how many to count on as far as food and everything goes. It's the nice thing to do =)

What, the rules are for THEM too? I thought the rules were only for you.... Haven't you noticed lately? No one seems to think manners matter? It stinks. You are right. They could at least let you know how many to plan for!
