My washer got off balance the other nite, now it won't start. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back up, it doesn't work. It happened once before and the repair said there was a reset button, I just don't know where it is and I can't afford for the repairman to come out...

My Maytag washer motor has a auto thermal reset, IE wait about an hour and it should auto reset. Try this, open the lid, reach in, pull the tub assy towards you. This should reset the out of balance switch. Close the lid and retry.

I don't think there is one. The door switch may have become misaligned. I don't know what year washer you have, but there is a little dimple in the back of the door that pushes against the switch. With the tub filled try to push something non metallic in there to see if the motor starts. Some have alittle plunger on the door too, you need to push something into that. It all depends on the year and model.
