A brief argument between Vice President Cheney and a senior Democratic senator led Cheney to utter a big-time obscenity on the Senate floor this week.

On Tuesday, Cheney, serving in his role as president of the Senate, appeared in the chamber for a photo session. A chance meeting with Sen. Patrick J. Leahy (Vt.), the ranking Democrat on the Judiciary Committee, became an argument about Cheney's ties to Halliburton Co., an international energy services corporation, and President Bush's judicial nominees. The exchange ended when Cheney offered some crass advice.

"**** yourself," said the man who is a heartbeat from the presidency.

No, if you remember, at the time, Republicans said that wasn't a big deal.

Edit: I LOVE that the two people below me resorted to, "That was three years ago!" as a defense.

Clinton hasn't been President for over six years and they're still beating THAT dead horse, but don't bring up anything that any Republican ever did wrong.

Considering that Leahy had just questioned the integrity of Cheney a little bit before, and then tried to act all buddy buddy with him, Cheney's response was most appropriate.

Actually it seems quite consistent with how Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfield carried out diplomacy in the first 5 years of this administration!

Ohhhhhh dear...Well, boys will be boys...I suppose. No, he wasn't out of line. He's probably getting tired of hearing this stuff about Halliburton. Ya got to admit, all these political footballs have gone way beyond the reasoning of the average citizen. Make politics very sickening.
