I live where Hurricane Katrina came through, and it was not very pleasant. And I have never seen a tornado, But I don,t think I would want either one.Katrina was enough for me!

Living in FL, I've been through my share of hurricanes. I've never been affected by a tornado, but many areas around me have. If I absolutely had to choose, it would be a tornado because it happens right away. Hurricanes are long drawn out affairs where the end result is unknown.

I live in Florida. I'd rather go through a little hurricane than a twisting tornado.

I would go for the tornado as I have a shelter here on the property. A hurricane sounds so much worse.

Well, I've opted to live in California where neither of these things happen. I've never understood why people living in the South or tornado/hurricane prone regions live there & continue to move back after their homes have been destroyed. I just don't get it! Move away!
Anyway, I think I'd rather go through a hurricane. Tornados scare the crap outta me.

I go through both often and hurricanes are way way way better than tornadoes (sp?) - A tornado will show up w/o warning and rip your house to splinters. Hurricanes show up with up to a week's worth of notice for you to stock up on plenty of food and booze. Either one is bad mind you and they take people's lives.
