I'm currently working for 15$/Hour. I started this job a year ago as an "intern" and was supposed to be doing light HTML updates and things like that.

However the company saw potential and let me rebuild their site as well as add another one thats fully PHP/MySQL and redevelop their intranet.

I'm not happy with my current pay because other interns here get paid the same amount as I do ($15/hour) and they do word processing/database input.

If you are an intern, part of you pay is the experience that you are getting. You may want to think of the fact that you are in a better position to get a "real" job in another company.

Rather than asking for more money (always a turn off) - approach your manager about becoming staff instead of intern. This would probably get you a raise as well --- IF the work that you have been doing is good.

Companies don't give raises for the heck of it. There must be a reason and if the company can get another PHP/MySQL person to develop websites as good or better than yours for $15 an hour (and they probably can), you will probably not get a raise.

I'm kind of in the same situation as you, I think. I'm just being patient because I know that as soon as I graduate and get my bachelor's degree, I can drop the "intern" title and get hired on as a full-time associate. I was also told by my boss that once this happens and I show more ability to develop in .NET I will get a significant pay increase.

As an intern, it's probably best to not try and negotiate and just be patient. If you continue to increase your development skills, I'm sure that will noticed and you will be given opportunities to get a pay increase. If that doesn't happen, then maybe you should look to move on to another company...

Can interns ask for raises? I think you should, but if you're an intern, then I'm not sure. Maybe you can wait until your internship is over, and when the company absorbs you, you can ask for a raise.
