I hear that certain places in NY and I think CA have smoke free cities. I would like to know how did the city go about getting that policy of "no smoking in public places"? I would like to get that started where I live at. If you know anything at all, please respond, all feedback is greatly appreciated :o)

Washington State actually enacted a law that says in all public establishments, and buildings, that smoking is prohibited. If you want to take it outside, you must stand 25 feet away from the door.

Why do some people feel that they have the right to, or mission to, impede on others rights?
If you don't like being around smokers, let's say in a bar, stay away from that bar or start your own that doesn't allow smoking.
If you're so worried about health, get out there and start lobbying for cleaner cars and industries. Smokers are the least of your worries.
