No.
This is just simply a new resource other than sitting for hours in a library trying to find the right book.

I personally think that students *should* do homework on their own. If they need help, they should ask a capable family member, teacher, or tutor - mainly because these sources are reliable and the only way that the students will really absorb things is through the 1-to-1 contact.
However, here's the reality - if the kids are studying late at night or if they don't feel comfortable asking an adult for help, or if they're just lazy, obviously they're going to feel that turning to the internet is a quick-easy solution. So, this means that teachers have to hold up their part too. In other words, *be* available for the kids and make sure that tutors are accessible and available. Also, be internet-savvy - there are definitely helpful educational websites out there. Preemptively protect the kids against being led astray by false/unclear information online (especially for math and science... anybody remember the "dihydrogen oxide" fiasco?), and give the students a list of websites that you've approved, where they can get some extra guidance or a memory refresher.

It depends on how much help they are actually asking for and if they are actually understanding the answers that they are using.
Asking for guidance for an answer is ok, because this is similar to asking a teacher or class mate for help. However it is only ok if the student understands the guidance that they are getting and do not use the information without understanding it. If they don't then quite clearly they should be talking to their teacher.
For the students that ask for others to do all of their work, it is not acceptable. Chances are that they will copy any random answer that they receive, without reading it proberly and taking in what it says. Not very good for the future when the student needs to be independent.
Personally I would prefer to ask a teacher for help and not some random stranger. Least that way I can ask any further questions that I have and the teacher is also aware that I am struggling with the work. Also the teacher is right and it is always better to try and do the work yourself and learn from your mistakes.

I don't think so its wrong..student or anyone can get help and information from Internet..some times parents don't have time to help their kids in studies..But I'm not in the Favor of copy and paste...student should get ideas and understand what they are learning at school..looking at the Internet for each and every thing is not good though.. they should try at least one time by them selves than go to the Internet.. but do not spent all the time on the Internet...

I think it's wrong for kids to ask others to do their work for them. Information is at their fingertips on-line and easy enough to find at the libraries. However, if they have done everything they can do but need more information/help, then that's a different story. Some of the questions on this site are definitely posted by kids too lazy to do their own work though - you can tell. I just don't answer.

No, I don't think it is wrong. In a lot of home there is no one there to help them. I don't think they need to ask for answers for the whole thing. but, the ones that try and stuck on something if feel it is fine. I think too that the student get better information on the net. Most answers are explained to the students.

No--I think it's ok to ask for help, if they lack understanding, or the ability to do a specific problem. I also think it's not OK if they are trying to get someone else to do their homework for them, witih no attempt on their part to do it.

It's wrong if they are looking or asking for the answer from other people. If all they are doing is looking for clarification, then it is OK.
