especially after they take the 40% gift tax out of it...
i would pay off my bills, buy a new car that i pay cash for and sock the rest away to gain interest.

If you don't think that's a lot of money, why don't you have a millino dollars right now? I mean, sure, in perspective of what is considered "rich" these days, a million dollars is not a lot. But it's enough to live comfortably with a part-time job. Perhaps we shouldn't be so selfish when Cambodians are sewing together our $136 sneakers for $0.31 an hour. If I had a million dollars, I'd pay off student loans, give to three various charities, and live comfortably with the job I have now. Perhaps invest some as well.

Its not alot of money at all they take out most of it in taxes before you get it then when tax season comes around they take the other half of it and inform you you still owe them money for having the million in the first place

Pay off every debt that I have, give an amount to a cause I support, invest it, set the rest to the side as an inheritance for my children. That is it.

With the rest, buy lots of Fantasy books, DVDs, video games, ...

Just pay my bills real quick ($4500 OR SO), put the rest in the bank and see what's left after the IRS gets their piece of the pie....and then figure it out....save ALOT of it though...That's for
sure!! Not going to blow it on something stupid/extravagant....
Do something WORTHWHILE!!! =)
