Wow, you sound pretty excited.
A false positive is rare, but possible. You don't really need a second test unless there are reasons to believe it SHOULDN'T be positive.
If you didn't miss any pills, repeat the test. The failure rate for OCPs when taken correctly is very small. But not unheard of, either.
I'm assuming you had suspicions (missed pills, or didn't have the withdrawal bleeding at the end of the pack?) -- otherwise you wouldn't have done the test.
Tell whoever you want, but don't tell everyone. It's so early, and you are not even 100% sure.
You should make an appointment to see someone though, so they can establish a due date, get you started on vitamins, and schedule your first trimester screening if you want it. They will do their own test, too, to verify it.

Aww congratulations, I'm 18 and became a mum at 16 :-D I'm now doing an Open University degree so don't give up your dreams cos of a baby. I wouldn't tell too many people yet as its early days and there is a chance that something might go wrong, wait till your first scan. Phone your doctors, they might want to do another test but they'll mainly want to book you in for checkups with the midwife. Good Luck!

Congratulations. I would call and make a prenatal appointment with your doctor right away. However, as far as test results go, home tests are very accurate these days. A false positive reading is very, very rare. I feel the baby's daddy should be the first one told, then Grandma. Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy, baby and in school. I hope you can manage to keep up your studies.

How do you feel about being pregnant 1st of all? then i think you should tell your boyfriend you'll have a lot to talk about make an appointment with the midwife at your doctors, yes a positive test means your having a baby you don't need a 2nd test congrats. when you and your partner are then ready to tell people you should you don't want him to know you told your mum before him, imagine if he had some thing BIG and went and told his mum and friends and family 1st i don't think you'd be to happy its apart of him too. GOOD LUCK.

Since you are on the pill call your doctor and ask if they can run a pregnancy test for you today and then get that done. Once you get a clear diagnosis tell your boyfreind and your mother if you need to but probably boyfriend first so the two of you can talk about this. For now call your doc and ask if you can come in for a pregnancy test.

Take another at home test before u get excited because ne thing could have off balanced your pregnant hormone especially if u are on the pill. The doctor will only tell u to take another home test before u come in.
I took three test because i was also on the pill and they all were positive. then i went to the doctor's office for confirmation. Anything could have offset your pill and caused you to get pregnant!
Tell ur boyfriend first, he's the one who also have to take care of the baby. Then tell your mom when u think she can handle it.
You can still go to school. I did. only when i went in to labor we were done with the semester and i had time to stay home with the babies. i hope it works out for you that way if u wanna finish school.
--good luck!

wow - congratulations!
Just a bit of background, I got pregnant on the pill, too.
If you have a good relationship with the boyfriend and wish to continue that, tell him first.
Since you were not planning on this pregnancy, I highly recommend visiting your doctor ASAP. You need to start taking prenatal vitamins immediately, and there are many things you need to know that you should hear from him/her instead of via unreliable or uninformed sources.
Best of luck! You're in for a difficult journey, but a wonderful one.

I say tell your boyfriend.
Do another test yourself 1st though before you start stressing. Before i did a test which said positive and when i did the second, it said negative.
Sometimes, we release hormones during our cycle which confuse our bodies & give false preganacy test readings.
I was on the pill and fell pregnant as did two of my mates so its very possible it could happen.
I wish you all the luck in the world because its a touch thing to go through especially as youre at uni!

I was 21 when i was pregnant and i was on the pill so like you it was a surprise, i did about 3 tests and they were all positive.
I told my boyfriend first then my mom, then i let my mom tell my dad.
Phone your doctors and ask what their procedure is with pregnancy's as all of them do it different but you do need it confirmed. and as for uni, there is loads of great childcare put there just because you re having a baby doesn't mean your life should go on hold.
Good Luck.

wow...CONGRATS!
hmmm...well I'd tell your boyfriend, but that's a decision you have to make.
Positives are usually pretty accurate...Although I took 3 tests total in 1 day! I was so excited & couldn't believe it. It's always good to get a test done at the Dr. just to be sure.
It is possible to get pregnant while on the pill. Especially if you are on any antibiotics, or other new medicine.
Don't worry about college. Things have a way of working out :)
CONGRATS AGAIN!
