Weakness. Aren't we warranted in believing some things we don't have proof for? Somethings by their nature are unprovable. Can it be proven that the universe that appears to be real isn't just the dream world of a malevolent demon, or that the universe didn't come into being five minutes ago exactly as it appears, or that anything even exists outside your own mind? Finally, I turn the question back upon the so-called Scientist, can he prove his assertion that everything must be doubted until proven?

It is a strength, by far. By always falling back on what is proven, and building only on that, science can be certain about things. This is great - we can be certain that bridges will withstand the weight of cars, that buildings won't collapse in the wind, that a spaceship will get to Mars at the right time, etc.

Of course, "certain" is never 100%. Since we don't have all the answers to how the universe works, there is always something deeper to look into. By demanding proof, science is compelled to investigate these areas, expanding our knowledge of how things work.

Its both a strength and a flaw.
Strength because of the simple fact that man's insatiable thirst for answers and that the wise are always in doubt means that mankind can only advance and develop.
Weakness because when something is solved and definite, scientists and conspiracy theorists keeps making up wild claims to discount the solid facts.
