my wife and i are haveing trouble with baby names for a boy we have a rule if i like a name and she dosent we cannot have it vice versa but she has set her heart on niko i hate it what do you think

I love the name Nico, that is my cousin's name. My Gram hated it at first too, but after he was born, he became Nico, and haven't heard a thing about his name since!
I am 5 weeks and like different names, here are some of our picks:

Your wife wants to name a child something you hate? Is she planning on raising the child alone? For crying out loud, get out the baby name book and go back and forth until there is something that is acceptable to you both. This is a joint project.
And personally I hate Niko too, but that's irrelevant. Perhaps Nicholas and she could call him Niko and you could call him Nick or Nicholas.

How about Nathan, means gift from GOD. I don' t much care for niko. Sounds like a nickname. Try nicholas and she can call him niko for short. Just remember this child will have this name for life so give him one he'll be proud of.

my son's name is Zane and everybody says it's the coolest name ever. I have a friend whose son's name is Cain. hat's cool too. Go different without being weird and remember, the kid has to deal with the teasing if it's a funny name or hard to pronounce.

We named our son Elijah Noel! I love the name. We call him Eli and maybe later he can have a nickname like Noe. I wouldn't change his name for the world.
