last night i was woken up around 2am because i was feeling so nauseated. i have been vomiting about once an hour since then. my head hurts and my throat hurts and my nose is runny, but i was sick before this. along with the nausea now my back is aching and my stomach also hurts. i'm inclined to believe this is just the flu, but i am worried it might actually be morning sickness.

Has anyone ever been woken up by morning sickness like this? i know its not "just in the morning" but does it ever effect the night like that? or does it just sound like the flu?

I think that your symptoms sound like you may have the flu. I am not sure that runny nose is associated with pregnancy. Also I think that morning sickness can come early on, however I don't think you would have morning sickness before missing your period. In the end, you know your body the best, if you are not feeling right, see your doctor, or get a home pregnancy test.

Good Luck!

With my second daughter, I mistook morning sickness for the flu! I couldn't keep food down, and was puking round the clock! Pregnancy can cause cold and flu-like symptoms. I'm currently 7 wks with #3 and it feels like I have a cold but I don't. Sneezing, stuffy/runny nose, coughing lol...it can be confusing!!! Take a test, if you're pregnant and having morning sickness, you're far enough for the test to show it!

Morning sickness can occur any time of day, however, the symptoms you are describing sound like good old "flu". It also could be something else - another type of virus which may need prescribed medication. Get yourself to the docs &* feel better soon. In the meantime drink plenty of fluids. Flat sprite or 7 up are good for rehydrating & nausea.

IF sore throat and runny nose can be ruled out, then yea u'd have morning sickness and should get tested. But because u do have a sore throat and runny nose then its probaly the flu. If u wanted to get pregnant sorry!

It sounds like it could be either or....you should take a test just to make sure. If your having morning sickness then the test will def say positive,....because it takes a while after you have conceived to have morning sickness.

Good luck to u!
