I would forget to flip mine...

Or even if there was one World Standard hour glass, What is the flipping proceedure? You would have to watch microscopicly close to watch that last grain of sand fall, and then we would loose a second or two every time it was flipped. Many people would have to be in charge of watching the clock, because people need to sleep, so the flipping on Johnny's shifts may be quicker than the flipping on Joey's shifts. Entire days could be one or two minutes longer or shorter than others...

Wait, we could have days one or two minutes longer or shorter than other days... why would we care? Do we need to know the time down to the nanosecond? Maybe we need to let go of time, we wouldn't be so stressed out and in a hurry. Sun up, Sun down,Time to wake up, time to eat, time to sleep. What else do we need? Relax. If you aren't taking your time, someone else is taking yours.
