Personally, I hate doing dishes. I do other things, but I dislike doing dishes. I don't think you can teach someone who doesn't want to learn in the first place. It is silly for both men and women to think they can train their mate to be the person they want them to be. As for me, I take care of any maintenance around the house, I do the yard work, take out the trash, vacuum the floor, oh and here's a big one, I bring home the bacon! I think I can decide NOT to want to do the dishes.

You can't, and you shouldn't try. You cannot change another person. If you marrie him knowing that he doesn't like to do dishes, then you're stuck with a guy that doesn't do dishes. You can divorce him, or deal with it and wash them yourself. It's the same with any habit or thing he likes to do/not do. If you marry a smoker, you can't nag them to quit. If you marry someone who looks at porn, you can't nag him to stop. You validated that behavior by marrying him anyway, so you have to live with it in silence. If it was that big a deal, you shouldn't have married him, and your only options now are to live with it or divorce him.

Let them pile up till there are no more and then when it is time to eat tell him to wash his dish so you have someplace to put his food. Otherwise tell him you have no choice but to toss his slop on the table and hope for the best. I think he'll be more than happy to pitch in with dish wash chores then.

Well gurl i can half way say that a guy is more of a person who just sit's around and hoping that a woman would wait hand foot for him but if he loves you then have him sit in the kitchen with you and do what you do.

That doesn't work.....I'd be like "oh well, while you're doing the dishes, I'll be looking at internet porn".

Don't you realize that you can get a man to agree to almost anything when his dingaling is in your mouth?

How do you teach your wife to mow the lawn?
(Sorry, I'm just in a grouchy mood today, I do dishes) ;-)
But I lived on my own for years and HAD to do everything for myself, plus my ex-wife never did anything.

Uhm, what? His mother should have taught him that! That's so stupid. If you don't want to do them, leave them in the sink! He'll do them if you don't or when you run out of clean dishes. Big deal. My partner does dishes.

I feel sorry for your husband. You don't train your spouse to do things for you, you ASK.
