sonic activation module?

we have had our dell pc for a year and suddenly this sonic activation module keeps trying to install itself. it says to insert a disc (which we dont have) and i have uninstalled all the roxio programmes as we never ude them anyway. i also downloaded microsoft clean up, which didnt work. any suggestions on how stop it trying to install itself? this seems to be a common problem in the forums.

start your pc in safe mode, next you restore your pc to a date prior to getting your sonic problem, the instructions are easy to follow. do not even try to do a system restore while not in safe mode as it does not work as well as in safe mode
