I saw that McD's has about 30,000 and Starbucks is aiming for 40,000 one day (Now a mere 16,000!). Does anyone have them beat?

If you go by rate of growth, WalMart has them all beat hands down.

WalMart averages a new store every 17 days worldwide. They are entirely too big now, and are taking unfair advantage of small, hometown-type businesses. Since they buy in bulk, they cut costs so deeply that they are putting the little man out of business.

I hate WalMart.

Its Wal-Mart hands down. They are the largest grocery retail in America as well as the largest retail chain in the world. They also top the largest toy seller as well as take a significant chunk of retails sales. The Waltons who own Wal-Mart/Sam's Club are on Forbes List of the richest ppl every year usually fluxuating between 1 and 3 depending on how Bill Gates or Warren Buffet do. So if you want prolific. Walmart stands out. Then you've got Home Depot, Sears, and I think Costco that come in behind as massive retails in terms of sold goods and the brand they lead.
