No because they can't pass on the electricity to Earth and also if they were on a treetop when there is a lightning, it is possible that they get the heat and electricity from the tree more than directly from the sky and burn up.

yes..and when I was a kid, the bigger birds used to get zapped by the powerlines....(swans and ducks)...I would think that is more humane tho than being sucked into planes engines.....gosh, hadn't we better cheer up, this is too sad....have a nice day anyway...
