LMAO, Sprint!? I call sprint the sneeze network. If I sneeze on a napkin, all the little drops of mucus represent how spotty their network is.

If you check consumer reports, Verizon Wireless is number one in nearly every test market, second only to Alltell in few southern markets. Sprint is consistently at the bottom of these consumer tests in regards to customer service and network reliability.

Verizon Wireless all the way!

Are you asking IF you can do this? Or are you saying that you can text while your service is off, and you're wondering how that's possible? Sometimes Sprint will get things screwed up, and even when your service is off, you can still do certain things. For instance; the one time my service was 'interupted', I didn't know it because I was on the internet on my Treo 700P ALL DAY at work streaming music. So yes, it's possible, and the reason(s) is/are simple -- sometimes major companies make mistakes, or technology errors sometimes can't be explained.

Negative, however in some cases you might still receive text message and voicemail alerts. Don't know the full reasoning why, though.
