For good or ill, snakes are generally portrayed as villains in cartoons. Some possibilities for your question are:

Sir Hiss - Disney's Robin Hood
Kaa - The Jungle Book
Nag and Nagaina - Rikki Tikki Tavi

Yeppers. U must be thinkin' of "Kaa" from the "Jungle Book". Written in 1894 by Rudyard Kipling. The annimated movies was produced in 1967. The "Jungle Book" actually is a collection of stories put together that he wrote. In the first appearance of Kaa in the story "Kaa's Hunting" Kaa is described as a 100 year old, huge and powerful snake. In this story Kaa helps Bagheera and Baloo to rescue Mowgli by knocking down the imprisonment walls from which Mowgli was captured by Old King Louis' Monkey's.
