I think the makeup Arabic and Persion woman wear is stunning and beautiful. I'm so jealous of you girls! I am like the whitest white girl. I have blonde hair, eyelashes, and eyebrows. I spend so much money trying to get a tan. Then I have to wear makeup just to see my facial features. You ethnic girls just wakeup pretty with no makeup on at all. At least you guys don't have to wear makeup, but when you do, it looks beautiful. My little girl is half Persion Indian, and I'd give anything for her complexion, dark hair and big brown eyes. She loves to wear makeup. She doesn't have to though. She just wakes up gorgous everyday. I don't think, from what I've seen of Arabic and Persion women, that you guys wear to much makeup. I don't know about the guys and what they think of it. I know that the father of my child loves it when I wear my eye makeup like Marilin Monroe. He likes it when I wear red lipstick as well, but doesn't like heavy blush on anygirl. He also really likes my up do's. Some guys have a real prefrence, and some don't even care or notice. My dad thinks I look way to Anna Nicole when I'm all gussied up like that and thinks I'm prettier with very light makeup and hair down. I've noticed that I get asked out a lot more when I look the most dressed down and very little makeup. I think girls are more aproachable that way. I think guys can get really intimidated by all the hoopla. I think they think "high maitenence" when they see you looking to Hollywood. I am. I'll admit it.

Some women in the middle East are free to make this choice for themselves, whether or not to wear the hijab. (This is the name for the veil.. i might have misspelled it) and some women are not free to make this choice and must wear one. So in some cases, women are required by law to do this. I believe Saudi Arabia still has this law for example. In some cases (maybe i should start saying places) women are not required. In this case it is a personal decision that is based on religion and personal belief. There is full veiling, the head veil where the face is free and then nothing. I don't know if there are other ways of wearing it but I have a good friend who is Muslim and she wears just the head covering. She doesn't really like to wear makeup but she will wear it for special occasions. Wearing the hijab, in her case, is a personal choice. Neither her parents/family, nor her boyfriend force it. In many cases it is just a personal decision. Otherwise, it's usually part of the law of the region.

I don't think so. I think their make up is unique and defining of their culture. It's nothing wrong with setting yourself apart and not looking like everyone else. Plus, I don't know any one who can apply eye liner better then one of them gals! :-)
