Most presidents have been lawyers. But these last three GOP guys were and actor (Reagan) and two oil businessmen (Bush I and Bush II.) And you wonder why the country is in the toilet?
Instead of electing men who love money, let's elect some who at least value law and education next time, rather than catering to the average redneck who feels insecure around educated people.

We could elect another lawyer who gets disbarred and pays huge fines for his "contumacious conduct."

The problem with education is two fold.

1. The NEA union.
2. That the federal government is involved in education in the first place. There is NOTHING in the constitution that supports this entity as a function of the federal government.

One of the ten planks of communism expressed in the Communist Manifesto is that children's education is controlled by the central government.

It is socialistic/communistic and the sooner the Dept. of Education and the NEA is abolished, and parents are again returned the power and responsibility to educate their children, the sooner we will see "education" problems resolved.

Your bigotry is showing by the way. You associate anyone that is not white collar as being uneducated and uncomfortable around educated people.

Take it a step further, maybe these uneducated rednecks don't even deserve citizenship right? All the problems of society is due to uneducated rednecks and if they would get out of the way of you elitist liberals, and let you dictate to them what their lives should be like, then everything will be fine right?

I don't have a college degree. I have spent many hours in the sun and my neck is definately red. But I am not uneducated. I am successful in life.

Your statements generate a division in Americans that shouldn't be there.

If you are "educated", you have dishonored the degree that you hold by your REDNECK attitudes.

Nixon was a lawyer and lacked respect for the law and the democratic process. But I agree with your basic point that intellect and education are important in a President.

So are you saying we should elect scummy ambulence chasers like John Edwards? Next to terrorists lawyers are the most hated group in this country...for good reason.

Gee, we kept hearing that one had to be a veteran to run - even though Clinton won over two WWII veterans and we were told his military record didn't matter.

Now that Hillary and Obama - two non-veterans - are running, we hear that one has to be a lawyer. But I'm sure that doesn't help Guiliani in liberal circles.

It's hard to hit an ever-moving target. But it's fun to read, I guess.

What's next? Eye color?

PS Nixon was an attorney, as was Ford. Kennedy was not.

Education is funded locally by the states and counties, very little money comes from the federal government unless they are building new schools
