Why is the news media so freaked about pot growing in an influencial neighborhood?

Been on the news all morning. I guess grass growing in an influencial neighborhood is more newsworthy than pot growing in a bad neighborhood. The only difference is that this one had solar panels and all the trimmings that an "influencial" person could afford. I

Because everyone (almost) wants to be rich. No one wants to be poor. Affluent people just make better news stories for sensationalized media. How many soap operas of main stream television series are about the poor?

It's NEWS, thats all. It's something they can chomp at the bit at. The great political machine here in the US forbids US TV from showing what is really going on in the world, so in order to find something to put on TV, they have to grasp at anything out of the ordinary and hype it up to make sure American audiences grab at it so they are distracted from the real news actually happening around them.

If you really want to know whats going on in the world, watch the newscasts from other countries. It's an eye-opener, especially when you take a look at what's making the news worldwide about the US...

For example, the biggest news overseas right now is that Congress has subpeaned Karl Rove. You cant even find that in the news here in the US yet. Karl Rove is up for Domestic Terrorism charges, as are others in the Bush Administration. And a special order has been given to sieze "secret" documents that have been thus far hidden from the Congressional Oversight commitee that has been investigating everything.
