Well any sane person knows there is no "liberal media" that is just a lie spread by the right to discredit news they dont approve of. It appears to be working too.

I don't think it can be argued anymore that there is not a liberal bias to the majority of media outlets not just in the US, but even more so in Europe.
The bias is clear not just in the manner in which stories are reported, but in the choice of stories reported.
It is also very difficult to argue with a straight face that the same media that reports stories with a negative conotation for Bushs administration, actively avoid reporting anythong that may show that same administration in a positive light.
That, my friend, is bias.
It is laughable that liberal supporters here become so incensed over FoxNews, which in fact (while there is no doubt it does have a more conservative slant in its editorial content), is probably the most 'down the middle' source for HARD NEWS.
Even on their opinion programs, FoxNews consistently gives the viewer a diverse panel on the discussion portion of those shows.
Compare that to Chris Mathews (usually 4 or 5 libs - or more accurately 4 liberals and 1 other liberal pretending to be conservative like gay activist Andrew Sullivan) or Stephanopolis (4 liberals vs George Will).
The fact that so many liberals label FoxNews a 'right wing vehicle' simply proves that any outlet willing to air balanced coverage is seen as 'in the tank' for the administration...in other words if you're not bashing Bush 24/7, you must be biased in his favor.

No. The Liberal Media provides an excuse for people to believe what they want to believe, and that's our problem with it. No matter what the WSJ, IBD, Bloomberg or CNBC tells you about the economy, if you don't think you're getting ahead as fast as your coworker who works later than you do, you can leave early and get home at 6 and tune in to Lou Dobbs tell you that you're not going as far as he is because there's this grand outsourcing conspiracy against you.

It's pretty funny you should mention that. For YEARS I've been laughing at the people who talk about the "bias" in the news. I thought they were out of their mind, and just seeing what they wanted to see.
However, I've started to see things differently the last couple years. There is too much that hasn't been reported on that SHOULD have, too many headlines that are only speculation, too many ARTICLES that are nothing but speculation, and too many articles that should have been front page, but weren't.
Why does the news media rely on third-party and fourth-party sources on the war in Iraq, instead of those who are actually THERE, or have been there? Why was the focus of the Libby investigation Valerie Plame, instead of what he was being tried for? Why was Foley called a pedophile, when the person he was sending lewd emails to was NOT a child?
I could go on and on. THIS is why I take my news from all over, instead of depending on one source for everything. I have found that there are things that Fox reports (I read their news on the 'net) that MSNBC and CNN don't, and vice versa.
I was always taught to take my news from at least two places, because the TRUTH is usually somewhere in between.

At this point the media is divided into two camps. On the conservative side, you have Fox News, The Washington Times, and radio shows like Rush Limbaugh. On the liberal side, you have, well, EVERYTHING ELSE! NY Times, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, NBC, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, CNN, etc.

Answer: Your question restated "Is believing the "liberal media" just an excuse to only believe what you WANT to believe?
Answering in its body the "question" you pretended to ask is by definition...Not A Question, now is it.

Does ignoring their bias and giving them a pass on promoting liberal agendas give you an excuse to only believe what you WANT to believe?
Come on, you can do better than this can't you? Isn't there a real issue that you can state neutrally for discussion?
America needs indipendent thinkers that ask non-agenda bound questions in an effort to create a society that is safe and prosperous.
Really, can't you do better than this?

No, but it is the reason Fox is the number one in the ratings.
People will find someone that agrees with them and watch that network. So what does it say if Fox is number one?

The funny thing is...the so-called "liberal media" is far more conservative today than it was 20 years ago. It's a convenient lable for people to use when they don't like what they are hearing.

I may be missing the network that has a genuine debate between Democrats and Repubs.
What I see in one broadcaster preaching. I don't like to be preached to, I like to evaluate based on logic and facts.
