ya. its possible around 2250 AD. recently i read that someone manufactured the car that flies in sky and also run on road. the hurdles for the fiction to come true is the material and power. the vehicles to run like those in star war require ,
1.power(fuel/electric/propelsion) to carry the vehicle billions of light years.
2.engines to start , run, speed up beyond many a times than speed of light.
3. the material of the vehicle to withstand different atmospheres of the galaxies.
and lot more dear friend. let us hope Ur dream come true.

in case you suspect the technical manuals from Trek as canon (they do no longer look to be) and the technical manuals from Wars as canon (that are) then famous man or woman Wars truthfully comes out on good. there have been famous man or woman Wars Tech Manuals that propose that the protection tension systems of the X-Wing Fighter truthfully produce extra offensive firepower than that of the united statescompany's phasers. famous man or woman Wars and Trek are actually fairly equivalent in terms of propulsion as Voyager presented the Slipstream force, this is fairly equivalent to the Hyperdrive of Wars.

ever hear of DARPA ? we got that stuff now . i.e. laser weapons capable of cutting wings off planes , sound guns that can liquefy bowel contents of advancing enemy (instant diarrhea) they were deployed , but not used , at 2004 RNC in N.Y. for riot control . another sound weapon that produces a 2-5 Hz note , which is the natural resonance of a brick or concrete building . it can crack the walls up to 2 miles away.submarines with no propellers (makes no sound),like in 'hunt for red October' that use induction coil to push water through a tube for propulsion . they got a 'shoot around a corner gun' for urban combat .dragonfly size spy camera planes. much more is still classified .

My best guess is something we haven't thought of, invented or discovered yet. And it will come out of nowhere, and if big business and government don't screw it up, it will change everything.
