I have registry check, and driver update s/w. my telephone always has a dial tone, the wires aren't wrapped around each other. is it norton anti virus, BT,or a dicky modem?

Have you got filters on ALL of your connected telephones. Don't forget to check if you got a filter on your skybox if you got sky and the telephone line is plugged in. Best thing to do with sky is just unplug the telephone lead from the socket.

The only other thing you can check is unplug all of your phones and check your speed the, One by one replace the phones until you find the one that may be faulty

It could be that you hve a faulty connection, mice chewing through wires in the walls, or you have a virus. I would worry either way. Consult a computer mechanic.
