I just began taking BCP Orthro tri cyclen a month ago it was prescribed for my irregular periods?

I got my period the day after my last active pill my period became extremely heavy after two days and alot of cramping does this mean the pill is not working for me my period is on its sixth day I'm extremely frustrated please help!

It takes the body a while to get used to bcp's. If you are worried, call your doctor and ask her/him.

if this is your first time taking birth control your body is probably just getting used to it. they may be irregular for a little while but they should calm down after a while. if it doesnt you need to talk to your doctor about it so maybe you can try a different one with a different dosage.
