I went to Quiznos for lunch yesterday. I had a buy a combo get a free sub of equal or lesser value coupon. When I checked my receipt I found that I did not get the "combo" price. I was charged individually for the soda, cookie and subs.

The 2nd sub was deducted. When I asked why this was this way I was told the register does not "double dip" so it gave the sub price off but not the difference for the combo. This amounts to like 50 cents, but if this is done to everyone buying for the day that is a lot of quarters at the end of the day in their pocket instead of the publics.

Just curious about others. I always check all my receipts - typically before leaving the store. I have found sale items at a grocery store not ringing up correctly so get the difference before even leaving that way.

I always check the receipts - about once out of every 3-4 trips to a cash register, I find there's an error. At the supermarket, they have a policy of giving you the item free if it was rung up incorrectly, so I end up saving quite a bit there.

In general, I find that there's a lot of people who can't add or who don't know how to make correct change - they only know how to read what a machine tells them. I used to get upset about it, but now I just shrug it off with the assumption that if they were more skilled, they'd probably be able to find a better job. It's buyer beware out there, but people can only cheat you out of your money if you let them.

Yes, and be particularly careful at the grocery store. I challenge everything. Plus , be careful of sale signs. They move them around or illegally post them. It's called "bait and switch". When you get to the cashier, they will say "oh, I'm sorry this item is not on sale. The sale item is sold out" then if you really have your heart set on whatever you picked up, you buy it anyway. I go to the store manager and make them take down the signs.

I'm saving up for my baby, who's due in June, so I'm very cautious about money now! I usually calculate things as I purchase them, then when they ring up, I make sure they've been rung correctly. There are always a few errors, especially regarding sales prices because the prices change so often. Everyone should be a wary customer because it's his or her hard earned money!

I think once a mistake is made then people tend to look. I always make sure I get it right....it pisses me off when they don't pay attention.
