morality is neither absolute nor relative...it is provisional. that is, society dictates what is acceptable behaviour for most people, in most situations, most of the time. a quick study of civilizations will bear this out. for those of you who would like to find out more about this reality, i suggest reading micheal shermers latest book, "the science of good and evil"...you will look at this subject of morality in a wholly different light. so, to answer your question, i am a provisionalist.

People should follow a moral code; the issue is where to obtain it. Evolution applies to societies as well as to species, and a society which lives by a sound moral code will survive preferably to one that does not. It follows that the proper moral test to apply is: how will this action affect society at large?

I believe that everyone should follow a basic set of moral code: Do unto others as you would have tham do unto you.

Treat others the same way that you want to be treated

Everyone should set their own moral codes that suit their lifestyle the best. There are some moral codes that should be universally accepted such as not committing murder or stealing from another.

I believe we must follow what the word of God says. The bible is the word of God. The bible tells us how we should live. Anything outside of this is wrong. We can not just go and do as we please and think we are going to go to heaven. God is a jealous God. He wants you with him or without him, you cannot live both ways. The bible says if you are not hot (with God) and not cold (with out God), and lukewarm (trying to live both ways) he will spew you out of his mouth. It makes him sick so to speak. You cannot serve to masters. Either you are with the one, or with the other.
In Gods word it shows how christians should live, yes christians will sin, and Jesus Christ forgives, but he can only forgive those who ask him with a pure heart, and those who try to change what is wrong in there lives, and do not continue in a hibitual manor.
For example...I am married and love my husband. I chose to marry him and commit myself to him. If I say I love him and commit to him, yet I am out there flirting and cheating on him and doing stuff that is against what I am saying to him, is it okay? No. I should stay committed to my husband. I chose him, till death do us part. The bible says if your spouse commits adultery you can leave..anything didn't go for a marriage, so why would anything go after committing yourself to God.
When a person committs themselves to God it is somewhat like a marriage. If you say you love him, will you deny him? Denying him is not only with our words, it can be with our actions too. Love and commitment is an action, it is not just words. God knows our hearts. God sees who is honestly wanting to live for him. He does not want to share you with this sinful world, just as a wife or husband does not want to share their spouse with another man or woman. Either you live for him and what the word says or you don't. You can not have it both ways. You cannot just do anything you want to do and expect God to let you go to heaven.
