For me a pleasant surprise can be very annoying. You know, like if someone stops by without a call your like, "what a pleasant surprise" only when you didn't want them to. I actually don't like either because being shocked is pretty damn near the same!!! lol

A pleasant surprise would make me smile, e.g. being told I'm getting a cake for my birthday. Whereas a shock would make my heart pound and my palms sweaty, e.g. 6 firemen popping out of my birthday cake!

a pleasent surprize is wakeing up tyoure better half and saying good morning.
a shock is looking at youre self in the mirrior and seeing what they had seen, its happened to me s.c a r y..lol
