You might want to try your local churches. Often they will have mission trips to the Lakota reservations. For example there is a town in South Dakota named Mission, near the Rosebud reservation, which became a town specifically due to the Christian missions to the area. Through your local churches you might find an existing relationship to the Lakota people, or the reservations. This might be the place to start the dialogue on helping the Lakota students. Good luck.
