Headingley is a fantastic place. plenty of pubs and restaurants in the area. Also just a short bus ride into Leeds centre where again there are numourous bars and clubs all quite close together.
Best pub in Headingley is probably the Skyrack but like i said there are plenty around, all a short walk between them but a thoroughly enjoyable night out nonetheless

Headingley has a host of soulless bars it matters not which one you go to. Ditto places to eat. It doesn't have any particular things to do otherwise, just head into town. Or head to Hyde Park and check out Baraka, a cafe where you can bring your own drinks and chill for as long as you like after you have eaten; check out the Hyde Park Social, which is like a giant student sitting room; and maybe get a poncy fry up from the Clock Cafe.
Where to go out really depends on your tastes. Cheese/rock/dance music are all catered for in Leeds as a whole, in Headingley expect rnb/upmarket cheese nights. Google for Leeds 365 if you want nightlife listings.

headingley is a cracking place a right student town umpteen bars pubs etc and just a short ride on a bus or in a taxi you are in the centre which will be the best night out you have had in a while there are dozens of places to drink at.

Every where has a KFC, and if you are lucky they may have a Waitrose nearby so you can stock up on olives
