I stopped watching American Idol a long time ago. When I saw bad singers get through and make it to the top 12, knowing that thousands of people audition, there are probably many talented singers who get turned away because they don't have a gimmick or they aren't William Hung (LOL).
I finally got stuck watching the show in the gym. Some were good, and some I said how the heck did you make it to the 1st round of auditions (like that Sanya boy or that Debarge look alike)! And to hear this morning that the tone deaf boy is still on the show this morning, I was like this show is not looking for an Idol, they are looking for someone to sell a story. This is why I stopped watching the show in the 1st place, because I knew it was shady.
None of the judges can sing and have no experience with voice, so how the heck can they judge a singing competition. And Paula sleeps with one of the contestants, but keeps her job? Why do folks keep giving this show props as they scam America?

Just Me, I am NOT worked up by the show. I don't spend my life thinking about the show. But, to see young kids be let to believe they can make it in the business because someone LIED to them, I got issues with that. It is called having "MORALS".

Also, those of you who think the judges don't have anything to do with who make it through, you are wrong. They are responsible until the final 12 (or whatever the number is before people vote). If they didn't let bad singers in the door in the first place, they wouldn't get a chance to be voted in by the audience.

Kelly M, I said experience with voice, not in the recording industry. There is a BIG difference. And we know Paula Abdul is not a singer LOL!

Also, this is a vocal competition, not a dance competition Kelly. Sorry, those long backgrounds have nothing to do with judging voice. I have judged vocal competitions, and all of them have judges who have experience with vocals.

The show is a joke right from the very start. I'm a professional light opera singer. Me and a friend of mine, who is a top singer at the music school she attends, went and tried out back in August. Neither of us were accepted to the second round of tryouts?
Although there were plenty of flamboyant, obnoxious people screaming and dancing around with raccoon scarves getting right through to the next round. I used to watch the show, I found it entertaining, but after that experience I haven't watched it since. It completely disgusted me. It is in no way a singing competition.
So, what I'm saying is don't expect the best singers to win.

Ok, I have no idea the reply, however I did learn one of the vital solutions and I simply have got to say, to the individual that suggestion Taylor Hicks might sing and was once a well entertainer, you're naturally uneducated within the subject of track. Taylor hicks was once, and is not any higher than the various humans which might be reduce from the exhibit previous to the last 24. SERIOUSLY take a track appreciation elegance or some thing. Learn approximately well, exceptional musicianship earlier than you inform humans who's well. Clearly you effortlessly have no idea.

The reason bad singers are making it through is because the singers are voted off due to viewers voting for the best singers. There are people who are purposely voting for the worst singer because they think it would be funny to watch them. I don't watch Idol, but I've heard reports of how certain sites were pushing for that Sanya guy.

As far as bad people making it I totally agree. There are people on this show that shouldnt be and so far the ones who have been voted off, I feel should still be there and that Sanja... however you spell it should have been gone a long time ago. However, about your coment about the judges not having any music experinece..they all have many many years of music industry experience. Randy Jackson is a former record company executive. Jackson is a music industry insider who has been in the business since the early 1980s, as a performer, producer and businessman. He was a temporary bass player for Journey in 1983 and 1986, and he spent many years as an executive with Columbia Records and MCA Records. As far as Simon goes, He is a record producer in London.Simon Cowell is a music producer and executive of the BMG UK record company. Cowell has been in the pop music business in the United Kingdom since the 1970s, and is credited with "discovering" such pop stars as the boy band Westlife and the pop duo Robson and Jerome. And as far as Paula goes... She's been around for awhile, Paula Abdul is a singer and choreographer, She grew up in southern California and got her first break as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers in the early 1980s.Her reputation as a choreographer led to a job as an assistant dance director for The Jacksons, which in turn led to a job choreographing videos for Janet Jackson's album Control. In the late '80s and early '90s, Abdul worked in choreography for television and film and had a string of hit songs of her own. Her debut album, 1988's Forever Your Girl, produced four top hits, including "Straight Up." Her second record, Spellbound also did well, but her third, Head Over Heels (1995) was less successful and Abdul's personal life was topsy-turvy. She divorced her husband (actor Emilio Estevez), recovered from an eating disorder and successfully fought off a lawsuit by a backup singer who claimed to be the main singer of several tracks on Forever Your Girl. By the late '90s Abdul was back to focusing on choreography, having abandoned her recording career. Since 2002 she has been a judge on American Idol, where she is known for her sometimes heated arguments with fellow judge Simon Cowell.
Abdul won Emmys for choreography for The Tracey Ullman Show (1989) and The American Music Awards (1990)... Abdul is of Syrian-Brazilian / French-Canadian ancestry... Her mother worked as an assistant to filmmaker Billy Wilder.
I know this is alot of info, but it just proves that they do know what they are talking about and that its the American's watching the show that dont know what they are doing.

I know exactly how you feel.People who have NO experience with voice should not be able to judge American Idol. Its actually very sad because some people know how to sing and they dont get passed through, and then its like really frustrating.

I heard that Howard Stern told his viewers/listeners to vote for the worst person because he wanted to see the show pay for a horrible recording artist. What a bunch of followers, can people not think for themselves anymore?

Why are you so worked up about a silly TV show? You really need some perspective in your life.
For someone who's not worked up about something so amazingly silly and pointless you really do go on a great deal about it....
