You access your BIOS as your computer is booting. Right after it starts, press F1 or F4 or something (it differs for every machine but is always an F key). Lots of hardware-related settings there; mic should be easy to find if that is your problem.

Edit: come to think of it, I've never seen sound card settings in the bios either. If you can't find them, try updating your sound card drivers, then take a look in the driver software (in windows, probably through the sound settings off the control panel) to see if the mic can be toggled.

the mic is part of the sound card so it you're getting audio output your mic isn't disabled in the bios. first thing to do is check the connection. make sure it's plugged into the right port. it is usually pink on the back of the computer. also, try a different mic and see if that one works. make sure it's not muted in windows sound control panel

I've messed with my bios a lot and never saw anything like that. I highly doubt a microphone setting is in the bios at all, but look through all the menus and submenus, maybe you'll prove me wrong. Check your hardware settings and drivers too.

no you change audio(MIC, LINE IN & SPEAKERS) in bios. If you have sound then check mic socket make so in correctly and right port, check in control panel under sound, speech and audio devices under audio tab that microphone volume is up and not muted, if no joy there try a different mic.
also try removing drivers and reinstalling them

the problem with your mic not working with skype , has nothing to do with the bios , and everything to do with skype . you need to check the programs settings and see if skype is set to use the mic this is done is the settings of skype . and is a common issue
