Hello Krystina. I just wanted to see if I could clarify this answer for you.. The answer lies not so much in how many days after your period you can get pregnant as it does in how many days before your NEXT period you will get pregnant! I know that sounds confusing but let me explain. It all depends on how many days you normally go between periods. Most women go 28 days between periods. That is where the common idea that you ovulate 14 days after your period comes from. Unfortunatley it is not always that easy. It is difficult to know in advance how many days you are going to go between periods. If your periods are regular then all you have to do is figure out what day would be half way between the two dates. Then you have a pretty good idea of when you will ovulate and you can figure out what day would be the best for you to get pregnant. You are less likely to get pregnant on the days after you ovulate because once the egg has been released it is only fertile (capable of being fertilized that is) for 12 to 24 hours. However, if the sperm get there early, the cervical fluid that is produced by the cervix can keep them alive for up to five days. So, you can see that your best odds are for the sperm to get their a few days before you actually ovulate.
What this boils down to is that if you normally go 28 days between periods that woud make the day that you ovulate day number 14. With the day that you started your period as day number one. The best time for you to get pregnant is a few days before you ovulate. If you wait until the day that you actually ovulate it is more and more unlikely that the sperm will fertilize the egg that month. Under perfect conditions and depending on the cervical fluid the sperm can reach the egg in as little as 30 minutes. If you have pinpointed the day of ovulation exactly then you may be lucky but if you are at all late the egg will no longer be able to be fertilized. That is why I say it is so much better to aim for a day or two before ovulation. That way you have much better odds of reaching a viable egg. This all means that you want to make love on day 12, 13 and 14 if you are operating on a 28 day cycle. If you ovulate on a different day you will have to figure out the half way point for that cycle. Then to complicate matters you never know when your body is going to throw you a loop and ovulate early or late! It all depends on being able to tell when you ovulate, that is the critical bit of information. There are other ways to determine when you are ovulating, there are even kits that you can buy at the drug store but I would not go that route unless you have been unsuccessful for at least a year. I am sure it will not be that hard for you. You can also tell when you are ovulating by paying attention to the sort of cervical fluid that your body is producing. If counting doesn't work you can look into some of these other methods. The fun part is that you get to keep trying for awhile!
I hope I have been able to help you and I hope that you will be able to figure out when your lucky days are! If you would like to write to me I would be happy to help you figure things out a bit better. Lady_Trinity_9@yahoo.com.
Good luck dear. This is such a happy, exciting time of your life and you are SO lucky! What a happy chore you have to accomplish!

It all depends on when you ovulate. For most women, it's about 14 days after your period, but for others, it's a little before or after. You can take your temperature every morning, before even getting out of bed, and record it. The day or two that it's slightly higher is when you're likely ovulating. There are also ovulation predictor kits you can purchase at the store.

12-20 days. I say that because no one really knows when they will ovulate.
Sperm livse 3-5 days so if you have sex 5 days before the 12th and you are fertile there is a chance you could conceive.

it all depends on what your cycle is like your 28 days or more between your periods.
If you go 28 days probly be on the 14 th day. I would play it safe and say on the 9th to 14th day.
