I think that Stephanie was WAY better than Sanjaya, yet he is still there. What is the deal America? He can't sing, I think he looks like barf, and he doesn't have star quality. Can someone tell me why the good ones get voted off before the really bad ones?

You know what kills me is that Stephanie Edwards had one bad week and she got voted off (I think she did better than most). Meanwhile that curly head, gay Sanjiyah has been terrible the whole time and he never once got booted.
That really bothers me, but like the judges say "It's up to America to vote, and it's girls like Ashley (the little girl who was crying all night), that have that fool staying around". If that boy don't go home next week I give up becuase it's not right that other good talent is leaving the show.

I agree that Stephanie is more talented, but I honestly think Sanjaya has more "star quality" and there is also more of a viable market waiting for him (teen girls). No offense but Stephanie is just one of many African-American girls with a hell of a voice. However, there are 4 other African-American girls on the show with BETTER voices. Sanjaya is a good looking kid who seems shy and un pretentious.
American Idol has proven since season one when Tamyra Gray was voted off that it is NOT just a talent competition. The public votes and you can't argue with that!!!

YESSS THANK YOU. I'm not gonna watch the show again until this dude gets voted off. Sanjaya is awful. I swear its rigged or something. Every week he comes out with a poor song choice and a poor performance. I thought those were the two most important things. America needs to get its act together and stop voting for this bama!

He never would have made it this far if talent were the only guideline. Unfortuately, there are probably thousands of little girls calling in votes for him. They're not basing their votes on talent.
It's not rigged. The public votes are calling the shots at this point.
