Seems like it, to me.

Otherwise, why allow them to be questioned at all? What he's objecting to is not the questioning, but the fact that Conrgess wants it under oath.

They're allowed to ask whatever questions they want, apparently, as long as they're not legally requiring that the truth be told.

Of course Bush is afraid to let his people testify. One CAN NOT be caught LYING if they do not testify under oath......
And the Bush Administration will lie! They have in the past more than we will ever know!!!!
BUSH-BOTS will say "He doesn't have to.............."
But those same were SCREAMING about CLINTON not taking the stand under oath..............so what does this show?
The Bush Administration is scared to tell the truth under oath because they ILLEGALLY fired U.S. Attorneys that were on FRAUD cases against their BUDDIES!!!!!

What he is afraid of is that his whole administration will be holding meetings in a federal prison, Bush has many things to hide, he is the most corrupt and criminal president that I have seen in my 61 years and remember that takes in Nixon. He makes Nixon look like a choir boy.

comparable reason President Clinton replaced into VERY against having his group puzzled, and he mentioned it wisely and eloquently (not that the extra seditious individuals of our u . s . might settle for it): If the cabinet and group of the U.S. President stay in concern that they are going to be observed as right into a political court docket searching for political factors for a political conflict, with their careers interior the soundness, just to wind up taken care of as "to blame till shown harmless", then they won't in any respect supply the President what they actually think of as suggestion. they'll continuously hedge in what they say. you won't be able to run a u . s . that way. i'm a democrat. I hated it while they tried to try this to our President (Clinton). I hate it now. forget approximately neo-con spin. that is incorrect. recover from your hatred of President Bush (or any President) and placed our u . s . FIRST, earlier than your political time table. Do the comparable no count who the President is.

Gore is not a current member of the executive branch of government.

If there is a dispute about the overlap between the powers of Congress and the President, it will be aired and decided.

Sometimes a person will refuse to do something on the principle that they don't HAVE to do it, even if complying would not be burdensome.

I am NEVER one to say "if you have nothing to hide, you should submit" to a search, etc.

It's all in the Constitution and laws - what we can do, what we can't. Our motivations don't matter.

If Bush is wrong I'm sure he'll have his a** handed to him in court, if it gets that far.

I'm missing the Gore allusion. You mean the way Gore is ridiculed for his environmental stance?

But yes Bush is afraid.

I don't believe so. I think in the back of his mind he remembers how Clinton fired 93 Federal Prosecutors and the Republicans didn't cry over spilt milk...

Those firings were NOT illegal...and they have nothing to hide. All the emails are available for the congressional big mouths to read and ARE being sent over.

Federal employees have evaluations, too. Just like we are evaluated on our performance in the workplace, it's the same with them.

I don't think congress needs to do this now. There are so many important matters concerning the environment and Iraq that this is their 'political trump card' and this country does not have the kind of time for 'diversion' on other subjects.

President Bush is right in fighting the subpoenas. He can't send his people to testify every time someone disagrees with him. Get over it.

Scared to death. If the American people started to see how this administration works and how immoral and illegal it is the President for the first time would go to jail.

Why is the firing of U.S attorneys an issue. According to libs, we are suffering from abject poverty,we have no health care,we are all going to get a really bad suntan because of global warming.....Why are the democrats wasting time with this foolishness when every administration has purged itself of undesirable attorneys. The democrats need to tackle some REAL issues.

Al Gore is putting on a dog and pony show and he is not under oath. Under oath, they do everything they can to fool you to make you lie. It is a trick and every one knows it. Al Gore can stand up there all day and lie as much as he wants. He is just promoting his ajenda.
