Like listening to music and following fashion trends. Does it prevent us from becoming individuals because we are all doing the same thing? Or does it awaken our imagination and aid creativity?

I would have to say popular culture inhibits creativity.. Take the television for instance .. Whatever you can imagine , is now there... 200+ channels all for our amusement..When I was growing up , we had 3 channels.. Arrrggg I am getting old.. There wasn't any MTV , or Sci-FI channels..Its no different with Grocery stores ... Look at all the different varieties we have now.. What ever happened to basic foods and our creative minds so that we made up something to eat ( I still do that and my family looks ill at me lol)
As for clothes( especially fads) , I believe its the worst creative inhibitor in young people.. You have to wear this or that in order to fit in.. No room for creativity..
I have always been a "I will wear what I like " Person. I have made my own style and my own creative choices ..
As for popular culture now a days, I believe it takes away creativity and inhibits growth...
The only true way to get around societies demands are to pick and choose according to what each of us likes ..
I like rock but I also like classical..I like modern but I also like traditional..
Picking and choosing is , in my opinion the only way not to become a slave to popular culture. Plus , I believe a person is happier when the choices they make are from them and not from society...

I believe that they way the music industry is structured today, creativity and individuality are grossly inhibited. My brother used to say that the best bands never got any radio play. I totally agree. People tend toward a group mentality and it takes a real maverick to be inspired in today's corporate culture.

I soo working on finding myself and my way. I I think it inhibits us, we are so conditioned by society and we don't even realize it, I realized it to late. But we must follow what we believe. If we have children let's try to invoke creativity it them as well as ourselves. I want to be involved with all aspects of my life. We must take the time to get to know ourselves to figure out how to get our creative juices flowing. I hope it doesn't atke a lifetime.

Its according to the indivisual, when i see a trend i like to challenge it or improve on it , so my creativity is awaken. but some people take the easy route and go with whats popular.

under no circumstances My spelling of actually concern-free words is appalling SO i hit upon the spell verify extremely useful ... although~~~~~~. would desire to i prefer to put in, a greater descriptive (colourful) notice, one, the spell verify , can not 'abdomen '. Why ! i only click " ignore approximately" and bingo! I certainly have only the wording, i prefer , while i prefer it !! Hmmmmmm.... i ask your self whether I certainly have positioned this in the process properly this way ,"I certainly have my cake and eat it ~~~~" LOL! >^,,^<
