......MARRIAGE WOULD ONLY KILL WHAT WE ARE CURRENTLY FEELING FOR EACH OTHER. MARRIAGE HAS A WAY OF SUCKING THE LIFE RIGHT OUT OF A PERSON AND I DON'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TO US.

All kidding aside, when someone uses the word "honestly" in a sentence (like that, anyway), they're not being honest. It's a "white lie" to save the other person's feelings.
The person saying that, whether it's you or him, either (a) isn't ready to be married - yet, or (b) doesn't want to get married to the other person, period.

I do want to marry you, honestly, but I just told a lie. That's all who ever this is being said to will hear. It's the same as "I love you, but...not really"

If you have to add the word "honestly" in a sentence then most likely you aren't being honest.
