i should add that i moved into his guy's apartment when he was moving to another location so he sold the pc to me. He made the internet connection so i know he knows the IP addy. once he was transferring some of his files from the pc (with my consent) remotely from his new location. wow! i saw the cursor moving and all. so was wondering if he could do this when i dont know about it

Your IP address is supplied to you by your ISP. The person who build the PC would have no way of setting up the IP address, or of knowing what it would be once it was connect to your ISP. Unless that person has been physically in your house and looked at the PC once it was connected to your ISP, they would have no way of knowing the IP address.

Now, they could possibly have installed a "spyware" or "keylogger" on your PC. If you are concerned about that, you need to do a spyware scan on the PC.

Go to http://download.com and get two free programs: Skybot Seek&Destroy and Ad-aware SE Personal. Install and run both. As they use slightly different list to determine what is "spyware", one may get something the other misses. Between them they should find and clean amy spyware or keyloggers off the PC.

Then go to download.com and get the ZoneAlarm firewall program (again free). Install it on your PC. It will prevent anyone from being able to hack into your PC. It will keep a log of any attempts by someone to get into your PC, also any attempts by your PC to call out to someone. Check that log daily (instructions are in the programs "Help"). That should saw you if someone is hacking your PC.

now know one will have a fun time TRYING TO GET IN TO UR PC.
most likely u are be paranoid
but it does happen alot
so now maybe u should run a virus and spyware scan to make sure there are no keyloggers on pc that can collect all passwords and account info and send to him
go here and here and run a free online scan with each of these programs

Get a firewall - Zone Alarm is good, but if you can't get it, at least enable your Windows firewall (if you have WinXP) - found under Control Panel-Security.
