Amtrak has one train a day between seattle and vancouver, and offers thruway bus service several times daily. IMO better than greyhound.

Via Rail goes from Vancouver to Edmonton. Agree with Michael it's one of the most scenic rides you will ever be on.

Travel from Seattle to Vancouver on either train or amtrak thruway bus is about 3 hours and costs $28 (USD)

Travel on train from Vancouver to Edmonton takes 23 hours, and costs:
$200 (CAD) for coach (comfort class)
$450 (CAD) for upper berth (sleeper)
$526 (CAD) for lower berth (sleeper)
$675 (CAD) for single bedroom

All prices estimates and subject to change and availability.

I like the previous answerer's idea of going by bus or rail to Vancouver, then taking the ferry to Seattle.

Here's another possibility: Take Greyhound south from Edmonton to Shelby, Montana. Then take Amtrak from Shelby to Seattle. The train ride is about 18 hours.

Like I said, it's another possibility ... if you'd like to see more of the USA or if you don't want to take the ferry.

You can take a ferry, or a bus to Vancouver. Quick coach offers one-way tickets for $30.00 ( www.quickcoach.com )

And then from Vancouver to Edmonton. $656 by via rail, including all meals and a sleeper cabin for 2 nights. I believe this is one of the most scenic train rides in the world.

You also have the option of traveling by bus from Vancouver to Edmonton for $155.57 each way.

Note: All prices are for travel taken from the linked websites, and are for this day only. So you'll need to check prices for your dates.

Hope this helps!
