what does this mean? The voice of people. I won't say, " the people" because they could be any group . who has a loud voice and I have had my share of them. What does it mean to protect America when all the voices speak out for this. the selection commities choose. perched upon that ledge. What does it mean to protect America? which part has been weakened? which part has been seen.thank you.

Just by looking at Spunkys' answer, should shed some light on how idiotic some americans can be. Protecting America was supposed to protect this country from any foreign ruler, to protect the citizens, protect the freedoms, religions, careers, education, etc. Of course, since money plays a huge factor in America, protection comes at a price. As for the terrorists (whoever they are), we have been hurt more by the American government than any other outside force. Money will be the demise of this country. Thank you and may GOD come soon to make right the wrongs that have been done on this earth.

The major value we speak of when talking about protecting America is our freedom. This country is founded on freedom. Other than the founding fathers and the constitution, everyone else is diverse in their opinions about America. And it's the freedom to be diverse and to speak our opinions that we protect above all. Freedom, in reality, is not granted to every person or group however. But we have the obligation to make it so and to work toward that goal. All else is self-serving and devisive rhetoric.

Clear, concise and to the point. If you can't understand the concept you need to go back in time and learn to read.
Unlike the middle east which is for the Imams, of the Imams, and by the Imams, "Protecting America" means protecting all Americans, whether they agree with the concept or not. Sure, most people have a misplaced hate for W, but what would happen if another terrorist strike occured...
...I will bet the response will be SWIFT and DECISIVE, rest assured.
Americans do NOT often speak as one, we are a land of individuals with individual thought processes. But, you can be assured that when the going gets rough...We can get rough too -- as one.
We have something the middle east and the rest of the world does NOT have.
