If this question is how it is, it doesn't require logs at all.

15n = 17
(divide through by 15)

n = 17/15

Generally, logs are used to find powers of something... so if the equation was meant to be

15^n = 17

then, log 15^n = log 17

n log 15 = log 17

n= log 17/log 15 (the 3rd one!)

I presume the actual problem is 15^n = 17. That's 15 raised to the nth power, which is very different from 15n.

If so, you solve it as follows:
15^n = 17
log 15^n = log 17
n log 15 = log 17
n = (log 17)/(log 15)

Hence, the third answer is the correct one.

15n=17
or
n=17/15
to get
n=1.33333333333 <-----answer ☺

proof: 15 *1.333 = 17
