No former vice president or president flies coach. They have security details. I got bumped from a first class seat I paid for so former VP Dan Quayle's security detail could sit with him.
Carbon credits (just read up on it) allow industries to trade the right to polute like they would trade water rights. Instead of it being a tax, a polluter who doesn't want to clean up or can't clean up can pay for the right to use the credits of a company that has cleaned up. So it serves to make clean companies more profitable and dirty companies less profitable, incenting dirty companies to clean up. It sounds silly, but it isn't entirely. The reason American businesses are screaming is that the plan is to make it transational, and of course the US traditionally has been the biggest carbon polluter on earth.
If you are concerned about the rich having a lavish lifestyle, blame that on tax cuts that benefit the top 2% of the wealthiest Americans and uncontrolled heatlhcare and drug costs, and payroll taxes that fall entirely as a burden on the middle and lower class.

a carbon credit is a decuction we make into our own company to act like we really care about the environment when we have our 9000 sq ft home that uses 10 times the electricity as a standard 3 bedroom home like most of us peons have - but don't know that if you make a deducktion to your carbon credits into your company - it makes it all right
and then Hollywood can recognize you and give your movie an Oscar - and be the LEAST rated show in years

No, it's called the weather. You can find out how it works at weather.com.
Carbon credit? That's something that polluting energy producers got put in to place as a way to avoid building cleaner power plants or updating old ones.
Gore flew coach during his presidential run, while Bush & Cheney were chauffered around on Halliburton corporate jets.

Bleeding heart Libs need to wake up. America is not invincible. We are a young nation. And it is absurd to think we cannot be toppled. We need to run this nation as a company. In today's world economy it is imperative to be able to compete. Implementing so many costly global warming measures will only make us vulnerable to going bankrupt. Artificially raising the minimum wage makes our products cost more. Trade imbalances cause our money to go to nations who want to destroy us. Environmental regulations cause us to buy oil from people who hate us. I would not shop at a store where the owner hated me .Why is it OK for our nation? We are becoming so compassionate about everything that we are setting ourselves up for failure. The Chinese and Indians are killing us in business. And they could care less about the Environment. If our country's business fails the Chinese and Indians will get all of the business anyway. We cannot compete with both arms tied behind our backs. Wake up Liberals.

How easy it is to talk, to obfuscate and to bemoan, to tear down someone because you disagree. I suppose it makes you feel better about yourself being the insecure, adaptable, and iconic creature who actually believes our government is incorruptible, and they have been honest with us in all cases. At least Gore is consistent, and he truly has the interest of all humans in mind even if he does have the same material needs as the rest of us.
