John Locke's father is the real Sawyer, meaning he's the man who conned "Sawyer's" (aka James Ford) parents. Which would make him the man "Sawyer wants to kill.

Now that would work for me. At least there's some continuity to that idea - we know about why Sawyer took the "Sawyer" identity, and we know Locke's father is a con, so that actually makes sense. Do you think you can get a job writing for ABC? They need help.

John's dad apparently has no problem changing his name, so he could have been Sawyer when he conned Sawyer's parents.

I've never thought about that, it makes perfect sense. It would be alright with me if Sawyer kills him.
