well dude, u did a very risky thing, leaving the job, what i would suggest is that, please find urself a job 1st and then prepare for CAT with it. It will not let Ur moral go down, cause u will have a job to fall upon even if u don't do well in CAT, also u will be self dependent and wound have less things to worry about, when u r in job. CAT needs a regular practise to crack, make a schedule and work towards it. There is nothing in this world that u can't get through. Just be patient and brave. the world will fall on ur feets. All the best.

CAT FAQs
1. What does the CAT want to test in 2.5 hours?
CAT will continue to test you in the core areas of Quantitative, Verbal, and Reasoning. There could be 2 ways in which the test question could be framed.
* There could be 90 odd questions made more difficult by the test setters by interconnecting them between concepts. The style in which questions are framed could be confusing.
* The number of questions could be even more. It could be a test of both speed and accuracy. The student would be expected to attempt more number of questions correctly. More number of questions will mean that the student needs greater patience, endurance and vigilance.
2. Will there be drastic changes in the CAT exam structure?
There will be one thing that would always remain constant: CAT is testing your managerial aptitude. Besides being good in the 3-core areas-verbal, quant, and reasoning, you should be nimble and be able to think on your feet. IMS has always prepared students to build the necessary skill-sets that CAT tests. Therefore, you should keep all your worries aside and continue with your preparation. Do not waste your time speculating further on the CAT.
3.How will IMS help me in coping with the changes?
The extra 1/2 hr will throw an additional challenge: endurance to fight mental fatigue. Maintaining the concentration level for 2 1/2 hr will not be easy. However, the SimCATs will definitely help you in assessing not only your performance level but also aid in building your endurance as the SimCATs are conducted in actual test conditions.

1. Session 5: Probability & Permutation Combination
2. Session 6: Algebraic Equations & Functions
3. Session 7: Geometry
4. Session 8: DI / DS / LR
You can contact your centre for the booster class schedule
4.Assuming that CAT is going to be tough, should I take the test?
Do not worry and stop speculating. Whether CAT is difficult or easy, all students will face the same rigour. CAT is a percentile game. This means that for you to qualify, your relative performance has to be better than other contenders. Last, but not the least, nothing is difficult, if you are prepared. So yes, you should be in the race.
5.I don't have a 50% in my graduation. What should I do?
The students should try other exams like XAT,IIFT,MH-CET and other regional tests. You should also look into institute specific tests, based on your relative performance so far. Your career aspirations will also drive the choice of the school.
[Please bear in mind that this is based on last year's data. The student will have to re-confirm based on this years notifications]

6.Will the increase in half hour translate in more questions or a different section?
The information that is presently revealed is just that there is an increase in the time duration of the test. We do not know whether there would be an additional section or more questions to solve. But you need not worry, as we will ensure that you are prepared for any eventuality. Also refer to Answer 2.
7.Will the Preliminary Test be for 2.5 hours?
The preliminary test would continue to be for 2 hrs as the preliminary test is based on last year's CAT structure. Part B would remain a 2-hour test. The objective of Part B is to ensure accuracy and therefore the 2-hour test will still meet the objective.
